Ukraine needs prayer.

Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Steele
missionaries to Ukraine
I was looking over my blog stats the other day and was surprised that Ukraine actually is the second country (after here in the US) to read my blog.  At first I was wondering why?  What's up with that, I don't know but one couple in Ukraine and I'm sure they don't read my blog that much if any!

Then a lady talked to me about Europe and how stiff everyone is there.  How its not 'proper' to have fun or even a chat with complete strangers....  It made me think of Ukraine.  Then on the facebook I was scrolling through my 'feed' and what was I 'fed'?  ;)  A blog post from a young man we know.  He gave an update on his family and how he and his wife are considering moving and all possibly, with the 'threat' of Revolution soon.  You can read his blog post here

But it has made me realize how much in need Ukraine is of our prayers.  That the lost get to hear the word, and are saved (if it be the Lord's will).  And that these missionaries in the country be safe and protected yet be able to do the father's work.  And that the country turn to God with their troubles.  If it is the Lord's will.

And prayer works.  My Memaw's sister and her husband, my great uncle and aunt, prayed for Mom's family when she was growing up and the fruit is our complete family's salvation and her sister's and her Mom's salvation too!  We are soo blessed thanks to our family's prayers so long ago, long before any of us Grubb children were born!  Thank heaven for the bended knee's of the saints around the world!

How not just our town, but the entire world needs our prayers.  Let us all as children of the Father do his work to completion and give HIM the glory he deserves, that we may unite as one against the principalities of the air and of the dark.

This is real.  Jesus is coming again and he better find us ready to aid him.

God's will be done on earth as well, as it is in heaven!

Pear Kombucha?

Before and after Christmas we've been 'pearing' and 'pearing'!!!  :)   We are so blessed to be able to get locally grown pears and I had fun with Mel, first making pear cider...   I don't have photos but you get the soft pears and place them in a cheese cloth lined bucket (or a sheet lined bucket if you don't have cheese cloth- like we didn't ;P), then close the cloth and 'beat' the 'bag' of pears with a stick to get the cider (pear juice)...  Well that was a hard job!   Anyway out of a five gallon bucket of pears we got about half a gallon of 'cider' (plain pear juice).
Sorta like the cider making!

We then left half of that on the counter, to make 'cider' (a little alcoholic) and put the rest in the fridge.  The 'cider' went too long and so turned into kombutcha!  It was amazing, it made its own little scouby or 'mushroom' from just plain pear juice fermented!

I then put the pear fruit in the crock-pots with spices and let it cook.  Then put it in the blender and now we have lots of pear sauce... much like apple sauce and its GREAT with buttered toast! :D

We made pear cake and pear bars, and cored pears and froze 'em so now when we'd like to make a pear pie or cake we just get em out and do it!   It is soo satisfying to get it all ready and prepped so all you have to do is thaw it to make some dessert!

Here's the photos Mom took... and my pear pie too.  :)

Girl Crochet!

Right before Thanksgiving I re-'fell in love' with crocheting! :P  I first made a shawl for myself, or one of the girl's but then they saw it so I decided to give it to my friend.  Then I made another, but I got a bit off in size so it was too little...  Thus I gave it to my niece, Haylay.
She (who will turn 4 in  12 days!) got that little shawl, it was colored baby green, mauve pink and cream.  And at the same time Mama gave her a doll and stroller and baby-carrier, so Hayley used her little shawl as a doll blanket, and it quite fit the baby perfectly!  :D

It was so sweet! And I don't care, if she'll use it is fine, her at four with every toy you can think of. ;)

And after that, I crocheted a hat for my other friend.  And that made me want to make little flutter-budget Gabby something too!  She's nearly one herself now... (man they grow FAST!!!) so I made her the little baby green hat with maroon trim and ties! :D

But Christy said she doesn't like hats...  But we'll see and I made ties, because of that.  ;)   And she's a doll who cares if she wears it!   I am soo blessed to have such lovely little girls to love and tease and create things for! :D

Life is so exciting and making things is too!  I am amazed at the things we can create from a string...

In a way it helps me understand a tiny bit of what God must feel!

"The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure." Psalms 111:7  (Praise God HIS works are judgment!)

Thank you for stopping by!  God bless you!

Scripture papers

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."  1 Peter 5:6-7

The season tries to change to spring, a warm breeze every now and again.  Yet the chill runs up your spine and though the sun's warmth shines it penetrates little.

I have had a full day.  Started weeding the garden beds to ready them for their purpose...  :)  And have made some more Gluten and sugar free recipes for Mama and Mel, trying to figure out what can best work...

I got to draw out a few verses today too.  I've wanted to do them in more fancy artistry so as to frame them for around the house.
And since the other day I've been writing scripture on tiny papers and reading them off and on all day.  Also at quiet time I bring my tiny blank papers and write the ones that pop out to me.  So are rather odd, but SOO true for our personal family, or my life
-personally.  But anyway! :D

Its been the BEST thing and I am entirely surprised by the blessings it brings.  And it has actually helped me anticipate bible reading more :P
The tiny nuggets of joy are so precious and like diamonds to be hunted!   Above and below are some of the verses.

"By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil."  Proverbs 16:6

"If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse." Job 9:20

It is amazing how much these help me.  And I am usually reading the whole chapter but these certain ones 'speak to me' and therefore they're 'elected' for a special place on my wall, or in my pocket calendar (that stays with my bible).

God Bless you all and keep praising God!

Readying for Spring

We are readying for the spring and all the traveling that comes with it!  This last week I have planted some pear seed and hopefully sometime they'll come up.  Mama also planted onions and it is good to get the feel and smell of dirt on one's hands again.

And we had a small dance while Melody taught a lady to call the dances.  It was only us kids but it was fun to dance again!
I am also writing my friends and getting back to drawing.

As you can tell in the photos below.    I'm now looking into the publishing of my book.  The one publisher I had was good but now its most high!

Well.  Here's the photos!

Thank you for dropping by to read my blog.
God Bless this country of ours.

Those are the pears (the sticks out of the ground).  :)

Life's Broken Pieces

So since about October 2012 I've been working on a novel.   I 'finished' writing it all last year but then I typed it all out.  Then after editing it myself multiple times I decided to send "Life's Broken Pieces" to an editor.  Well that was just finished before Christmas!  I've had the manuscript back but am finally sitting down to go over it myself and to see the edits it looks so professional.

I am excited to see what God is doing with this, and am amazed at what he has done already, its getting very interesting... :D

There's a twitter account for the main character, Janelle Kline and you should 'follow' her!  She let's you know every now and again some news from her world.

I thank God for this whole process.  Its soo fun to visit all my characters, soon you shall meet them all yourself! Keep your eye out for "Life's Broken Pieces"...

"Life's Broken Pieces"
The Great War was a time when hardship and fear struck the home front in England.  No one was safe any more.  Bombings were coming their way.   Along with the war's trials, Broken Pieces will outline the lives of several people during the Victorian era.  A woman left without knowing where her husband went, or if he'll return.  A policeman who's been fine with singleness but now sudden attractions unnerve him.  You'll meet a 3 year old girl who loves to laugh and sleep with her dog and, finally, you'll meet a New York Actress with a past she'd rather not resurrect.

God Bless and I ask for your prayers concerning the publishing and finishing of this book.
His Holy Child,
Faith Grubb

Continued Lessons on Trust

Happy new year!  :)

What an amazing thing.  God gave us the change of seasons, months, days and years too!   Isn't he grand!

2013 was wonderful year for me.  It was chock full of fun lessons, hand-taught by my Maker, the sweetest of teachers! :D   I enjoyed such NEW adventures and heights!  We got to travel a bit more and that was fun! ;)  The highlights would be the GG in Colorado in June and then the Shindig in September!  Boy that was soo fun!!!  Homeschoolers from over the country get together and you ought to check out next year's! :)
But atop that, and MORE important there were the lessons!  There were first strange and odd lessons, in the spring, of learning how IMPORTANT it is to hold only to God's ways.  Then amazing and SCAREY lessons of closer communication with friends.  Then this fall I had lovely, beautiful lessons on blind faith and meekness.  But all year 'series' of training on humility, respect of authority, and trust...
But now with 2014 its a vast UNKNOWN ready to be explored...   And unknown I'm talking about blackness up ahead and NO 'headlights'... Trust is my lesson still.  And I'm learning to hold onto my dear Jesus' hand, as He leads me.  It could be to greener fields, higher mountains, deeper valleys or 'twisty-er' roads!
But also learning to trust him simply with tomorrow.  Or the next five minutes.  Sometimes I go up to bed worried to the max over my goals...  We've all got those now a days...  But then I stop and think but He has it under control.  THEN what do I find, I pull my blankets under my neck and realize I'm worried about ALL the things I didn't accomplish in 2013... :(    Oh we humans!

I read Isaiah 50 this morning it was amazing, though it might not be for you it was JUST want I needed to hear:
"Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst. I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering." Isaiah 50:2-3

I ALWAYS tend to forget God's size, or should I say 'sizelessness'?  He's soo amazing!  Thank you Lord!

Also this song is very neat and has been soo cool!  I listen to it and think, you know God knows ALL about me and he STILL loves me!    Though with most we may hope they'll never know something, and I still do with God a lot.  But He ALREADY knows and STILL LOVES me with all those things I'd hope he'd NEVER know!   Humbling... what more can I say?  (I'm NOT DONE... go down :P)

And as a resolve let me leave you with...
"Man's goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?"  Proverbs 20:24

God Bless you!  And keep your eyes on HIM!
