Things I've Heard

So, lots of us see and here these countless accounts, jokes etc of married couples where the woman can demand something and she's granted it else she will throw a fit to get her way.   Or the countless divorces happen around us, due to many things but often due to an unsubmissive woman and my sisters and I have countless times said 'oh just once we're married we'll show how God meant it to be!'. And now Christy is married and she ensamples the Godly wife.  I hope to some day.

Which brings me to something else I've been hearing.
I keep hearing disquiet from the men's side. That there are no women desiring to be helpmeets.  I've heard the men say they run into career minded girls who aren't ready to mother or homeschool (or may not even consider either).

I know I'm not alone, I along with many are yearning for nothing more!  We're created to be ribs of men anyway, and have been trained since very young to respect our Daddies and honor them.

I know too that I have never been married but countless arguments escalate from nothing, or a small case where the lady could've simply smiled and gave up having her way (be that as tiny as wanting him to answer without any added input).

It may seem serious to you now, but I've seen the pointlessness of this!  It may seem foolish to you, but in it (I've been there actually) its VERY important!!!

Thankfully with my family I've been able to work on this.  I've been able to overcome my urgency and rush.  Which are from Satan usually.

Mom heard it from either Elizabeth Elliott or Debi Pearl that when as a wife (as I said it works now) you feel the urgency and dire need to say something, DON'T!

Anyway my rants about over! :).

I'm just saying we're out here and we grieve seeing others daily makes mistakes and foolish manipulations.  For instance the old cliché of 'on the couch if you're bad' that is something a wife should never have the 'right' to do.  The man is King in his home, and should never be sent out like a dog.

It okay to ask for a night, but not sent away on her call alone.  It should be mutually agreed upon as Christ designed a couple should be one, as we are one with the Father and him.

I'm done now!

This verse says a lot! :). Even for us singles!

Hebrews 13:17
"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."

Broccoli Cheese Soup!

Okay, so never made this.  Have goofed at being a cook for over 12 years. But never tackled this, felt inferior to try.... Over the years I have made gravies over and over and tried multiple times to make cheese sauces... They always flopped.

Then today it dawned on me...  Why not add the cheese last?

Faith's Broc Cheese Soup

1 cluster broccoli (with trees and entire stalk)
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups water
2 TBspns cornstarch (would've used arrowroot or tapioca flour if we had it)
1/2 cup water
1/2 c grated sharp cheddar cheese (with sharp you use less!)

Brown onions in some oil/butter.  Add broccoli.  Cover with 2 cups water.  In a bowl mix cornstarch and 1/2c water till its all mixed to liquid.   Pour in water. Stir.  Let sir on med. high.  As it thickens stir, add grated cheese.  Stir till melted.  Salt, pepper serve warm!
Super simple!!!!

Missing the 'Old days'

Christina used to really be into the Andrew Sisters and I joined her love for them!

That was back in 2009, 2010 and I'll never forget on our way home from a Colorado bluegrass festival once, we stopped to play a nursing home and we girls had just learned a Andrew Sisters song and after we sang our bluegrass gospel set, as we were leaving we girls and Mom knelt down by an older man, who was a WWII vet I believe, and we sang Bei Mir Bist Du Schon.  I'll never forget his joy as we left.

Christina and Stephen when they were dating/courting!
Missing my sissy too, but so glad she's part of such a beautiful family now, all for God's glory!

Here's Bei Mir Bust Du Schon:

And here's one of their cute songs!

Enjoy your week and I'll still be doing a post Friday!

Okay there are two typical situations in which we humans get in.  Involving pain.

1st.  When you unwillingly inflict the pain, and feel so bad you had to.

2nd.  When we take the pain, and usually take it without the real reasons why (there was pain) known.

I already did you about our reactions concerning this.

But I wanted to touch on that when we inflict pain we do hurt so bad too.  And have a pain of our own.  Almost unexplainable.    I couldn't explain why I have had to cause pain either.  This is one hard thing for me.  I being one who wishes to (and strives to when at all possible) explain and understand reasons WHY!

Also I wanted to point out that when we take blows of pain, we're not alone as God's children!  If we know Jesus one on one and are his children for eternity!   We will never have to face any form of pain, suffering, or hurt alone ever again.    I watch a couple little guys and for example, if someone were to attack the baby Frizt (3 months), and I stepped in the way I'd take the brunt of the hurt, if not all.  I am his shield.  He may take a tiny bit of the pain, but how much really?  This is how the Lord is with us now!  If we stay under the shield of faith and trusting in him, we will take hardly if any pain.  I learned this first hand recently and it was difficult to hold onto Jesus completely in such a situation.

I had to give up all my dreams, my hopes, my desires and choose his over mine.  But it was worth it and I am so blessed to know it is!

God Bless you all and may you come to know Our Lord Jesus Christ, if you don't!

We really got to sharpen each other's iron over this last weekend, it was so good to meet more of the body of Christ!
We mostly all camped inside, but outside we playedvolleyball, two touch football and capture the flag, and back inside we did dancing both nights.
